Kyle Godwin is a second-year graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Agricultural Safety and Health. He received his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Drake University in Des Moines, IA, and is originally from Council Bluffs, IA. Like many rural Iowans, Kyle was involved with FFA during high school, and agriculture has played a significant role in his life. An increased interest in the combination of agriculture and health sciences led him to discover and pursue the Agricultural Safety and Health graduate program at the University of Iowa. Aside from graduate coursework, Kyle is also involved with the Heartland Center for Occupational Health and Safety. He hopes to conduct research in animal safety, including injury prevention and assessing/preventing other adverse health effects. When he obtains his degree, Kyle would like to go into the agricultural industry.
