Course Goal
This course is designed to provide young workers (under 25 years old) with strategies to protect themselves on the job. Topics include:
- Why young workers are at risk
- Finding and controlling hazards
- Worker rights
- Communication strategies
- Workplace violence, harassment, and discrimination
- Being alert and ready for work
Intended Audience
This course is for anyone new to the workplace, especially those under 25.
Length
Approx. 45 minutes. Certificate of Completion provided by the Healthier Workforce Center of the Midwest (University of Iowa College of Public Health).
Prerequisites
None.

Learning Objectives
- Describe why young workers are at greater risk
- Recognize workplace hazards, especially for new/young workers
- Apply prevention strategies, communication, and policy awareness
Course Process
Please take the pre-test before starting. (The score won’t affect your final result.)
The course includes interactive modules, scenarios, a resource list, and a post-test. A 70% score or higher is required for the certificate. Retakes are allowed.
