For the very first time, Dr. Diane Rohlman and Dr. Ahmed Ismail conducted a meeting with Menoufia University partners using the Zoom video conferencing platform on Monday, May 14, 2018. This meeting was held in order to commence the second round of EGAD-funded pilot projects. The meeting was held at 8:00am Central time, which was 3:00pm Cairo time. The availability of this web portal enabled the participants to see and hear one another as though they were meeting in person.

At this meeting, Drs. Rohlman and Ismail announced the instructions and the timeline of the submission of EGAD pilot projects, which included but were not limited to: the times of letter of intent submission, proposal submission, reviewing proposals, and the time of funding. After finishing the presentation, Drs. Rohlman and Ismail answered any questions of the Zoom meeting attendees. Graduate students and junior faculties from various departments in the College of Medicine and the National Liver Institute at Menoufia University attended the meeting in the main meeting hall of the Menoufia Faculty of Medicine. In addition to Dr. Gaafar Abdel Rasoul and Dr. Olfat Hendy, Dr. Laila Montasser, the previous dean of Menoufia Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Clinical Pathology, also attended the meeting.
